Local Organizations Come Together for ‘Cuenta Conmigo/Count Me In’ Stand Up at The Strip of Las Vegas

#CuentaConmigo campaign is a voter mobilization commit-to-vote program that will be included in Mana’s “Latino Power Tour”

Las Vegas, NV— Today, September 16 at 11:00 am PT PLAN Action, Nevada’s Voice, CCCAction, For Our Future, iAmerica Action, Battle Born Progress, CHISPA Nevada League of Conservation Voters, NextGen Climate, Latino Victory Project and Mi Familia Vota are joining together as part of a series of events across the country committed to drumming up pledges from potential Latino voters in November. The events are being held prior to Maná’s concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and running in parallel to the band’s #CuentaConmigo and #LatinoPowerTour’s efforts.

Participants and community members are invited to text 33888 to commit to participate in November, and to put their painted handprints on a large canvas. The handprints will serve as symbolic of pledges to vote in November, and will be replicated in several other cities as well. Voter registration efforts will take place at the event as well.

There will be a brief press conference to follow with more details about the #CuentaConmigo campaign.

About Cesar Blanco:

César is serving his first term as a State Representative for Texas House District 76 in El Paso, Texas. He was named by Texas Monthly Magazine as one of the best legislators in Texas. César served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Representative Pete Gallego. Previously he served as the Arizona State Director for Obama for America for the 2012 Presidential Election. He was the Western Region Political Director for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), serving as the Democratic Party’s principal liaison and political advisor for the West while working with 13 state parties and coordinating with the White House, Cabinet members, and the DNC Chair and Vice Chairs. In 2010, he managed the campaign of Congressman Ciro Rodriguez (TX-23) and previously served the Congressman in a variety of capacities, including Chief of Staff and District Director. He is a former Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18) of Houston and Caseworker and Field Representative for Congressman Silvestre Reyes (TX-16) from El Paso. Cesar served as a Congressional Relations Officer for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and started his career as a Military Intelligence Analyst in the U.S. Navy. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso.
